Tipperary Tourism Where To Visit

This is a post I am sharing form Tipperary Tourism's facebook page. It is a very interesting read

The small and peaceful village of Ballypatrick is located on the slopes of Slievenamon, just a short drive from the towns of Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir.

At its heart, Ballypatrick Village Pub has been a haven for many a hiker returning from the summit of the Slievenamon in need of warmth and shelter or a cooling drink, depending on the day!

If you’re feeling energetic yourself, the trail starts close by and on a good day you can enjoy views of the Knockmealdowns, the Galtees, the Comeraghs, Keeper Hill and Mount Leinster.

Kilcash Castle is also just a short drive from the village. This fortified tower dates back to the 16th century and next to it are the remains of a medieval church with a Romanesque doorway. Within the graveyard the Butler mausoleum.
